External case for ide cd-burner......

My brother just picked up a Powerbook G4 Titanium for a really good price, he also just bought an internal cd-burner for his PC (Lite-On 48x). If I buy an external firewire/usb case will this enable the burner to work on the mac? Preferrably I would like to use firewire for it. Any suggestions on which case type/brand to buy? Thanks.

It should work just fine. http://www.compgeeks.com/ has good prices and products. I have the ME-720F and it works great.

I'm not sure if MacOS comes with the ability to burn to disc directly or anything like that, so you may need to have a Mac version of burning software installed.
