external 2.5" vs external 3.5" drive noises

After owning several external drives.
I was wondering if anyone would dispute my claims that the 3.5" external hard drives are ALL louder than any 2.5" external hard drives.

this is crucial if say you were working on a video editing project but didnt want to wake up an already light sleeper (wife).

I wish there were less whineeerrr 3.5 hard drives out there but i highly doubt it
 
I have noticed that it all depends on the manufacter.
Seagate 2.5 are loud
Seagate 3.5 are nice and very quiet

IBM (Hitachi) 2.5 are loud
IBM (HITACHI) 3.5 are loud

WD 3.5 are loud
Toshiba 2.5 average
