Before I begin – I always felt that waxing a car is how you make love to it. Caress every square inch, and make it feel right.
Ahem.

So, I waxed the new car. And wanted folks input on what chemicals to use for various parts. What say the gurus of ATTG?

Glossy painted sheet metal/plastic (basically the entire car) – I used Meguiars Liquid Gold.

Unpainted plastic – for example my grill, parts of the rear view mirror, the area where the windshield wipers rest – all that is a matte black plastic. I used Armor All. I know opinions are varied on this – I don't like the glossy look on interior surfaces, but like it on exterior surfaces, especially if it lasts longer / protects better.

Headlamps / tail lamps – I used nothing. But after a little googling, some people just use the regular wax which they use on the car. Thoughts?

Non glossy painted metal – in my car the greenhouse is all black. The door frames therefore are a painted surface, which appears to be metal. Not glossy. What should I use here?

Tires - I used Amor Al, just because i have it. Must be longer lasting solutions here?

Rims - I didn't do anything, just washed them.
