extending wireless

i just moved into a new apartment and i have a friend who lives in another apartment about...100 feet away. he has a wireless router and he said i could use his wireless if it reached. i don't want to pay $50 for internet when i can get it free from my friend. is there anyway to get the signal and share it with my roommates (some who don't have wireless)? we have two wireless routers available, one linksys and one d-link. thanks for any help.

Try upgrading your antennas on both ends...

Upgraded Antenna from Fry's

Fry's had one on sale last weekend, $4.99 and no rebate hassles, that works very well. Worth a shot for $10... definitely helped my range. Essentially it amplifies the signal.

i want to just steal some wireless broadband and share it amongst 6 people.

[foreign wireless router]--->[wireless capture thing]--->[my wireless router]--->[6 computers]

how would i do this?
