So I have one of these wireless adapters for my laptop

Text

It's a mini parabolic dish. I want to extend its reception power. Can I stick it inside a Cantenna to increash its reception power?

Or could I use one of those wall mount antennas to improve my wireless RECEPTION power NOT BROADCAST power?

Any suggestions?

thanks

If it possible to replace it with another Antenna then go ahead.

Otherwise, you can stick it any where that you want, but it has nothing to do with Wireless.

So sticking the Hawking minidish inside a cantenna won't do anything for reception? If that's the case I'll just get a new USB adapter and make a cantenna..

But just to confirm, there is no way to increase the Hawking dish's reception??

Thanks

The Hawking is rated 8dbi a 12 or 16dbi in theory would be better.

In reality I doubt that it would make significant change to get a 12 or 16dbi.

Placing the Antenna outside pointing to the source might.
