A friend of mine is moving in to a new place. The landlord said he could use the FIOS wifi that's already in the house for $20 a month. We were going to install a repeater or bridge upstairs in his apartment to increase the signal and give him a couple wired ports (desktop).
I've never done this, so I'm wondering about security. When setting up a repeater or bridge, in the setup, can you find/input the current SSID and password so the repeater/bridge receives the signal, but then have it output a secondary SSID and password so he has his own network and activity is secure/encrypted from the downstairs neighbor, or is something like this not possible?
Quickly scanning Amazon here are two products I found, any suggestions for something better are welcome.

Thanks.
