Extended Warranty

I know that MasterCard and Visa offer an extended warranty for free when you use the credit card, but I recently learned that AmEx does this too. On their site, they just say that the manufacturer's warranty is doubled. I believe MC and Visa only offer a max of 1 year; does Amex also have a max of one year? Also, what's your opinion on Amex vs. MC/Visa for purchace protection and extended warranties?

read their terms and conditions. noone on this site could possibly know for sure what the terms are for the exact cards that you are referring to.
they usually have a paragraph about the extended warranties in there, and it generally is "doubled up to a max of one year"

A friend of mine has actaully used the amex warranty.

In fact, the possibility of visa/mc offering that service is whats news to me- not amex

Not only does Visa offer it, but usually it doesn't cost anything per year unlike the Amex.
