I don't usually buy the extended warranty on anything. With the new technology of LCD TV's should you buy the warranty? Sam's club has the 3 year ext. warranty for $200.

TV cost is 3k. Yeah or Neah on the warranty.

You paid 3k and only got a 52 inch LCD? Good GOD man.

But barring that, isn't there a manufacturers warranty anyway?

First, I wouldn't, if it has issues, it'll be within the first year. I don't hear a lot about issues in the 2-5 year use range. It's either when they get a bit older, approaching 10 years, or something within the first year.

Second, I don't know exactly what each CC offers in terms of protection, but this is the kind of thing you put on an American Express. If you have any issue at all, you can trust them more than any other CC, that's at least how I view them.

If it was bestbuy warranty... I'd consider purchasing it.. since if it breaks within the time period you get the amount back if they cant fix it or something.

You can put that towards something else... later on if it breaks.

Sears warranties are pretty nice too, if they can't repair it you get a replacement tv same or better quality than the one you purchased originally.

I opted for the 3 year protection agreement on my 42" toshiba lcd at sears.

I bought an extended warranty at Sam's Club on my television purchase. It was $14 dollars for 3 years, kind of a no brainer.

IMO, the absolute best thing you can do is pick a TV that the manufacturer does warranty replacements through retail (IE Westinghouse) and get the extended warranty.

I had a LTV-32W6 that took a crap a month inside the man. warranty, called Westinghouse got an RMA, took it back to bestbuy and got a new SK-32H240S plus my 4 year warranty restarted on the new unit.

Now I've got my fingers crossed that my W4207 craps out inside a year too, so I can get a free upgrade to a 1080p model.
