Do you think that an extended warranty is worth it, more specifically for a car stereo. The reason I ask this is that I need to get a new stereo for my mom's car after someone broke into it and stole it.:| The stereo should not experience anything outside of normal use, if that helps. I am thinking that I will get a Pioneer DEH-P4400 as it is almost exactly the same as the old stereo.

Thanks

Depends on what the warranty covers. The Sony Mobile ES line has a clause that if its stolen then it gets replaced.

It also depends on what is covered, for how long, and how much the warrentee and the stereo both are.

The warranty would be something along the lines of this one. The stereo comes with a 1 year warranty. I usually never buy them, even for my stereo, but I know that my mom will be asked when she goes to get it.

its actually a VERY smooth move when buying pcs.. at places like best buy.. what pc that you know of will last for 3 years? NONE.. i lucked out.. and mine broke after 2 years.. they didnt have my model in stock so i got that value of the pc in cost towards a new one! talk about free upgrade

It depends. For me it makes sense. I have a Kenwood MP3 deck and I do nothing but listen to cds. I am willing to bet the cd player will fail at least once during my owning it.
For an inexpensive $50 Walmart special I wouldn't bother though.

Im a pctech at BB, and they can be worth it on somethings, depending on the item/if you know how to work the system. Definitely get them on things like cell phones, pdas, digital cams, cuz those types of things they replace outright, so its a free upgrade. On other stuff it depends.
