I'll be heading out to Charlotte in a couple weeks to start a new job. The wife and kids will be staying in our current house until it sells. So I need a place to stay for at least a couple weeks.
I'm planning on staying at one of the extended stay hotels with a kitchen for at least a week or two. Then depending on how long it looks like it will take to sell our house, I may look for a studio apartment or just continue staying at a hotel.

From what I've looked at so far, the most convenient option looks like Microtel for about $40/night. There's also an Extended Stay America that is a little farther away from my new office for about the same price.

Anyone have an opinion of these places or any other ideas of places to look at?

I've always liked the Residence Inn

I've heard good things about the Homewood Suites too, but I've never stayed at one.

Wherever you stay, make sure you sign up for their awards program...it's free and can't hurt to get some points towards discounts and/or free nights. :)

ok...didn't see the price point you mention the first time I read the OP.

The two I mention will probably run 100/night or thereabouts.

Homestead Hotels have rooms starting around $59 / night

LOL... this is my 5th Edit..... I'm bored tonight...lol
