If I am going to be using my laptop on an ac adaptor most of the time would it be better to remove the battery and only charge/discharge it when I plan on going mobile.
(lookd thru archives and didnt really see anything on this topic)

Additionally if I don't have a power conditioning setting in the bios is there a program that I can use to cycle the battery for optimal battery life?

Thanks in advance for any help,

You would definitely be better taking the battery out if you're going to be on AC for a long time, yes. Lithium ion batteries lose capacity over time no matter what, but they lose it faster at 100% charge and in hot conditions - like those of a laptop. Store it in a cool place at 40% charge and the battery will last much longer.

Thanks for the info on the battery. And I shouldn't worry about power cycling it then either I would think?
