Most are going to say "wtf is Exteel". Basically, think of it as a F2P persistent arena-style FPS using battle mechs. Combat was sort of Tribes-like (Three dimensional combat), and could be done with either melee or ranged weaponry. Basically, it was the "fun" aspect of the current crop of so-called MMOFPS games, but didn't hide their lobby in a fail-attempt at a persistent world.
To be honest, it was actually sort of fun (used to play a lot ~2 years ago), but it suffered heavily from F2P-payment balance issues (he who paid the money did far better than those that didn't). Plus the mechanics used kept those that wanted to be competitive paying more than most subscription games. It's really not surprising that it came to this.
So long Exteel. It's been nice knowing you.
