Do some reseach on the HP USB drives. I wanted one but after reading all the nightmares people were having getting the drivers to work I ordered an Iomega Zip CD USB and haven't regretted it a second. HP may have better drivers now, just a word of caution on an otherwise great deal.

good to hear you say that maverick. I ordered an iomega zipcd two days ago for my new notebook. I got it at staples for the same price listed above. use $40 off coupon and there's a $50 rebate on the iomega website.

I figure with as many different retail lines that HP has, something has to fall through the cracks. Also they have many different companies making their drives for them, then slapping the HP name on it. I know Iomega must do this to an extent, but their main focus is removable drives so that is why I bought the Zip CD. I have always been able to get regular driver updates from Iomega.com, and their site is easy to navigate. I lost MusicMatch Jukebox CD-R capability when I switched to WIN2K, but updated to EX-CD Creator 4.X and it works even better than MM. Rips my MP3's back to CDDA .WAV files on the fly with ease thanks to the 2mb buffer.

I would not buy a HP USB drive, but I have have used the Internal versions of HP's drives before and had great luck. I think Iomega just does USB better since they are a cross-platform company (If you own a Mac you probably have a Zip drive) and HP's main focus is on PC's.
