Exporting pst file. Duplicate, not duplicate or or?

Hi,

I know quite well how to export the pst to somewhere for safe keeping.

I've started asking myself whether, to keep emails, to replace duplicates, allow duplicates to be created or not allow duplicates......

What's the best option?
