I've been wearing glasses since I was around 10 years old. Current frames and lenses are about 2 years old, my near sightedness has more or less stabilized. I haven't had any issues with glasses until recently, really, which has prompted me to explore the idea more thoroughly.
My main concern is how well they stay put in the eyes. I am currently training in Shaolin Kung Fu and we do a lot of exercises, movements, throws, stances, sparring, drills, etc. Can anyone offer any input on how well contact lenses would stay in? It'd really suck to have a contact lense fall out during class or a rank test. I'm currently using a strap to hold my glasses to my face, however they still get sweat streams on them from our workouts, which is a bit of an inconvenience. Also, they interfere with both the fit and my vision when wearing a sparring helmet.
I've also just read an article on something called Ortho-K or CRT. It involved the reshaping of the cornea by wearing special contact lenses at night. The website I was reading it on said there were side effects, such as eye irritation and headaches, but nothing super serious. Its also reverisble, unlike LASIK, provided you stop wearing the reshaping lenses. Something to explore further, I think.
But for now, my question is how well regular contact lenses would stay in my eyes during intense workouts and sparring sessions?
