Explorer Window Problem

Here is the problem. I work for an A&E firm that uses AutoCAD and MS Word Heavily. I like to have multiple explorer windows open wile working on my drawings or word documents. Every time I save or print from either program it closes an explorer window. It there are more then one window open is still only closes one at a time. This is very annoying when trying to open and close multiple files. I have check the Event log and fond nothing, I have done all the update, and I have searched TechNet and the KB for the answer and found nothing. Please help.

RAM: 512Mb (RIMMs)
OS: WinXP Pro
