my gui explorer seems to crash at random now. it's strange. i doubt it's anything to do with hardware because it just started this recently and i haven't changed any drivers. i thought maybe the file got corrupted, so i uninstalled sp2 on win2k and reinstalled it. then upgraded to ie6.0 which replaced many of my old OS core files with new ones and replaced the explorer i have with a newer version. yet it still crashes. any ideas besides reinstalling?

Windows explorer or internet explorer?

My windows explorer used to crash all the time, until I upgraded to win 2000. Now it hardly ever crashes.

previously my explorer (W98se) would crash if i had more than a couple of folder windows open (took me a while to figure this trigger  ), just started happening after a clean reinstall. I worked around it by making each folder open in the same window (in 'view > folder options') instead of a new one each time. Dont know if that will help, but posting anyway since it might :)

my memory is pc2100 crucial ddr ram, so i don't think i have any problems there. i doubt video card drivers have anything to do with it since i've been using the same drivers for awhile now, but the problem only started recently, but i'll go ahead and do that anyways just to rule that possibility out. any other ideas? thanks.
