explorer.exe 100%

Not sure if this is the correct place to post my issue, if not then please move...

I partitioned my OS hardrive yesterday to install XP64 alongside XP32 on the same drive and now when booting to Windows XP32 my CPU runs at 100%. Task Manager tells me that explorer.exe is using 99% of the CPU. Manually shutting the explorer down and back on again (via Task Manager) solves the problem for the current session, but the problem pops up again each time I reboot.
I ran a Virus Scan (McAffee) as well as SpyBot and AdAware, no probs there.

I don't know if this is related or not, but while installing some apps on the XP64 partition, I moved a file from my RAID 0 config into a different folder (on the same drive) and suddenly that file became inaccessible. Just to clarify, I am running both OS's on different partitions on one and the same drive, and my RAID 0 config is another two separate drives. No matter under which OS, I can no longer access this file (3DM06) nor even delete it. Could this have something to do with my issue?

It's hard to believe no one has an answer.

C'mon guys, I thought this was where the uber-geeks reside, don't dissapoint me now. I can't believe no one at least has some hints as to where to start.

Don't make me loose my faith in you all!

UPDATE:

In my quest for viruses/spyware/malware/rootkits I downloaded a trial version of Panda Titanium. In order for Panda not to conflict with McAffee I uninstalled McAffee and unplugged the modems power cable. After uninstalling, I rebooted (still with the modem off) and explorer was fine! PC ran smoothly. Then I installed Panda, turned the modem back on and explorer was back at 99%.
Just to see what happens, I unplugged the cord again and restarted - explorer was fine. I turned the modem back on (during Windows operation) and after acquiring the network address the explorer was back up at 99%.

Hm...

Apparently the issues are two separate ones.

1) I can't manipulate files on my RAID setup after installing Windows XP64.

2) There's soemthing wrong with my network connections and it just coincides that my woes began after partitioning my HD and installing XP64

so it's possibly a drivers issue?

RAID isn't working as you don't have 64bit raid drivers, and network problem as you don't have 64bit network drivers?

Just a thought from a mere geek, not quite 7 3 |-| __ ü |3 3 |2 __ 6 3 3 |< yet.

Also, IMO, panda anti virus is the spawn of satan, or some simlar representative of all that is bad in the world.

Use AntiVir for antivirus, kiero for firewall, then ad aware, spybot S&D, microsoft anti spyware beta, and ccleaner. nice little starting block. Links probably in the consolidated security thread.
