Greetings from a new member,
I just upgraded my Mobo/CPU/mem and now I am noticing that when I download a file in IE 5.5,
the download slows down as it progresses and then hangs. This never happened with my old
system (P2-400, ASUS P2B). All I did was put into the 2 HDDs, NIC, sound, video cards, etc.,
from my older machine into this new puppy, installed the VIA drivers, and now I am unable to
download any large files (Note: files that are smaller than 1 MB or so download just fine).
I wonder if this has anything to do with the incompatibility (bug) between the VIA KT133A
southbridge and the Soundblaster cards..? It has something to do with large IDE transfers
getting corrupted.
Here are my system specs:
New stuff
---------
AMD Athlon 1.2G/266 (AXIA) + CoolerMaster EP5-6I11
Abit KT7A-RAID
256MB Corsair 133Mhz CAS2 (1 DIMM)
Antec SX-830 case + 300W Powerman
Older stuff
-----------
ELSA GeForce2 MX 32MB
Kingston EtherRx KNE111TX NIC
Soundblaster AWE64 Value (ISA) <-- still having minor problems with this card
WDC 8.0GB HDD
WDC 20.0GB HDD
floppy, cd-rw/dvd, zip, joystick, etc.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any advice is appreciated.
