explorer doesnt seem to remember that i want some folders/files viewed as thumbnails...

so i have winxp and this problem has been bothering me for the longest time! i have some specific folders and files in them (e.g. where i download pics from cam or scanner) that i want to have displayed as thumbnails. i have folder options set so that explorer is supposed to "remember" each folder's view setting. but lots of times explorer just defaults back to the list view. i've also tried using the folder templates under the customize tab when the folder properties are brought up, but that hasnt worked either. is there a fool proof way/solution to have thumbnail views enabled for certain folders/files and not have it revert to other views?
