explorer crashes after i open control panel

So I just did a repair install of Windows XP to fix the problem where add/remove programs wouldn't open. Well now, almost every time I open the control panel, explorer crashes. ("Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close"). Note: add/remove programs works now when I can get the control panel open

Are you running SP2. Did you reinstall SP2 after the repair?

hah, no, ill do that now
