Explorer 7 windows do not save individual positions ?

Folks,

Is there a 3rd p app or hack to save desktop size and location positions for desktop folders in widows 7 ?
I just noticed (Duh) that reopening a folder, say titled Music, will not open it in the position last closed but in the size and position ( tho not mode (list/details/etc)) of the most recently closed folder.

Is there a solution ?

Thx,

Control Panel, Folder Options. Check all settings including Advanced.

You can save the view type by folder, but the location where it opens and the size will always be that of the last closed (or still open) folder. Search for windows explorer replacements and see what you can find. I'm not aware of any behaving like you're asking.

When you go toFolder Options, click the Defaults radio button. It is supposed to be as Binky says.

Cant figure the why--XP no like that-always was a"save this folder's settings" in previous OS. Very dumb way to do it.

yeah, like i said, really unintelligent--i want a separate location for each folder so why global ? XP and all previous OS saved locations/sizes--some programmer of 7 got dopey. Unless there some advantage i cant see-wonder if 8 goes back to the better idea.
