Sure, it will have no impact until it actually does bite you in the ass. Say, when you buy a new game and your system dies while you're playing it.

What does a system dying have to do with it? It's all attached to your gamertag/psn ID, so...

Oh, and save the BS about used game buyers not contributing. There are numerous examples of why that's wrong, but I'm not going to bother debating those right now.

if my system died while i was playing it, then i'd simply play it on a new system. not sure what that has to do with anything.

and you don't need to debate any BS about used game buyers contributing, but could you just list your numerous examples? if you aren't giving any money to the companies developing the game, then I don't see how you are contributing.

I agree 100% with you. People don't seem to understand that the developers don't see a single penny from used game sales. I have no problems buying a game I really want new. If I am unsure about it, I will wait for a price drop and still get it new.

What? Are you all software developers? Do you think you deserve more than other producers? I can't believe you guys went there again...really..

So, don't buy a used ANYTHING and see how much you buy. This idea that software is different from EVERYTHING else is stupid. If I can't sell it, then I'm not buying it. It's not only about buying used. If I buy a shit game, or it won't work because of some random bug blah blah, damn right I am going to sell it. They made their money off of it already.

If everyone thought like that, our landfills would be alot fuller, and there'd be alot more lawns with 15 cars on blocks in the yard.

They aren't stopping you from selling it, you just may get less than you wanted. But that isn't really their problem.

actually I am a software developer and have been for the past 7 years.

nobody is stopping you from selling anything by the way. you can still sell it and pocket the money, just like i can do when i sell any of my other property that i own. i just had 3 auctions end on ebay last night actually, sold a broken camera, underwater housing for it, and a brand new ablet.

not really sure what you were even trying to bring to the table in your post.

My post was directed at the number of people in this thread that are saying "you aren't contributing if you buy used and that you shouldn't"

In my mind it's not a one way street. You can't say you can sell it, but don't buy used. It's a repeated attitude that I've seen off and on in the various posts over the last year or so. It isn't exactly what the OP is talking about, but it is heading that direction. If you don't buy into that mindset, then kudos, it's not directed at you :)
