it's fine when folder contains few or no AVI/mpeg files
but when a folder start getting lotta movie files(2~3gig or more) and when I open that folder, as soon as I open it, explore crashes/locks up
only way to solve is to move the files so one folder contains less movie files

any idea wtf is going on?

I've had this happen before.

First of all, if they are divx files, uninstall and re-install the newest codeces. Also, check your Event Viewer for when the crashes occur, and see if it names any specific files for codecs. My system would crash, because of a some DVD decode file from a ULead program installed on my system. Uninstalled ULEAD, and all worked well.

But yeah also get the newest codecs possible for your movie files, whatever they are.
