The U.S. military said Sunday that 14 American soldiers were killed over the past three days, including four in a single roadside bombing and another who was struck by a suicide bomber while on a foot patrol.

In the boldest attack, a U.S. soldier was killed Friday after the patrol approached two suspicious men for questioning near a mosque southwest of Baghdad, and one of the suspects blew himself up. Military spokesman Maj. Webster Wright said U.S. troops also fired at the second suspect after he began acting aggressively, and the gunfire detonated his suicide vest.

"Our initial analysis is that these guys were al-Qaida and were planning to launch attacks into Baghdad," Wright said in an e-mailed statement.

First off my sympathies to families of the lost soldiers.
But once again another story saying it was "Al-Qaeda" instead of insurgents shows up with no explanation as to why.
We KNOW that just before the war in Iraq started the American military was ORDERED to consider the invasion of Iraq(a type of order without precedent in US military history) as a part of the war on terror since the military did not agree with the Bushies.
I want to know if this is the military following more Bushie orders.

The US Military spokeman stated what was determined by the people who reviewed the intelligence.

They are not going to release intelligence details.
You are not going to be happy without knowing why.

Therefore, this thread is your standard trolling thread intended to serve no useful purpose other than re-inforcing your bias.

Recently (or perhaps always), I've seen stories were people being associated with Al-Qaeda simply because they had the same ideology as Al-Qaeda. You want to kill people? Ok, you're affliated with Al-Qaeda. Re: Those guys who were arrested trying to blow up JFK. They got quickly identified as sharing the same ideology as Al-Qaeda. To the common person in America, those 4 guys (or 5) = Al Qaeda.

I would guess it has something to do with tactics.
AQ is the one going around blowing themselves up all over Iraq.

But I am sure you are right, I bet just before he made this statement Major Wright got a phone call from Bush or Rove telling him what to say?

Techs,

If you already have a hidden agenda to a post, do us all a favor and leave it alone.

I'm sure tha NO soldier would act without Bush orders...Happy now?

Hell!! I forgot to call Bush before showering this morning because I was late getting back from the DFAC. Will Bush fire me and send me back home?
