As I understand it, all content on the new dvd formats (blu-ray and hd-dvd) will be encrypted. My first question is, will each dvd have its own encryption key, or is there is one key that all movies will be encrypted by. I'm thinking it's probably the former, but then how will you get the key for each movie? Over the internet?
Second question: As I understand it, if you play a dvd on your computer, it's not actually decrypted by software on your computer, but it's decrypted by your monitor, which is why windows vista will require monitors to have hdmi connections to play hd content. But if this is true, how will your monitor get the encryption key?
