When males go to the gym, or workout outside, they wear loose clothing. Usually long shorts, past the knee. Very loose fitting shirts and such.

When females go to the gym, they dress in skin tight clothing. Honestly, I have boxer's that are longer than the shorts some of these girls wear, and definitely much looser fitting. Skin tight shirts, usually with a bare stomach.

Isn't wearing skin tight clothing uncomfortable when working out, or are you just trying to appear sexy to those around you? It is true that men like to look at pretty women, no matter where they are, we are talking about the gym. Nobody cares if a female wears sexy clothing, jewelry, or makeup. Why some girls wear makeup to the gym is beyond me.

It shames them into actually working out in the first place, and keeps them from stopping at Baskin Robbins for a sundae afterwards.

I speak from experience! :D

And is there a problem with that?

Hell no!

Spandex and sports bras should be a prerequisite, unless you're a hefty momma! ;)

I'm not complaining about the attractive ladies doing it, if they want to be uncomfortable when working out, thats their business.

Now, I will complain about the ladies who are considerably overweight with fat rolls who think they can wear spandex and daisy dukes. *shudder*

We have guys that come into the fitness room wearing tights. Good looking ones too. They aren't interested in women, however. :Q

I don't know what women you've been seeing, but the ones I'm familiar with don't have boobs around their hips.

It's been my experience that the ones that dress like that are there more for the attention and less for the working out, while the women that actually care about a good workout wear stuff closer to the standard t-shirt and shorts.

The marginalization of women has seeped into the realm of women's exercise clothing design.

ie. if you can't wear this at the gym and look good, then maybe you should just stay home.

Just kidding. I'm sure our society isn't THAT evil.

I think the design is to accentuate the beauty of the female form, especially when it is glistening with sweat.

Meh, if I had a fantastic body I would show up to the gym in a tight singlet. At this point it's just a white t-shirt and shorts for me.

I think you have it backwards: stretchy form fitting clothing is more comfortable when moving than loose clothes, and they fabric wicks sweat away from the skin. Most guys won't wear tight clothes because of vanity. Girls want to look good at the gym for guys, sure, but guys want to look good too. If we truly didn't care we'd be wearing Lycra.

That typically happens about age 60. :D

Sorry to break this to you, guys, but women dress for other women, not for men. It's a competition/attention-whoring combo. We know that you won't care what we wear.
