Explain this to me, I am stumped!! (Kindle, Wireless, Web Browser, Mystery)

I am entirely stumped about what just happened.

I found a website which I wanted to browse on my Kindle so I can read it while I tweak my PC's BIOS. (Since I don't have a tablet and the laptop is occupied ATM).

The site had a long URL so I shortened it with goo DOT gl. I didn't want to type a long URL on my Kindle. (Before I tried unsuccessfully to convert the HTML into a ebook, so I moved it back and forth from the Kindle and it didn't turn out right so I thought I simply use the experimental Kindle browser to see the site).

(I had to set-up my Wifi on my Kindle since I disabled DHCP on my router and couldn't connect initially. I had to enter a static IP. I gave the Kindle its own static IP on my network like I do will all computers here. I am positive it's a unique IP here on my LAN).

I finally connected the Kindle to my wireless and pressed the settings to access the experimental browser, ready to type the shortened URL to go to the site in question.

To my UTTER amazement, upon pressing the button "experimental browser", the Kindle loaded up THE SITE IN QUESTION and showed it to me.

I have NO IDEA whatsoever how the Kindle "knew" I wanted to go on this article/site!
I did not enter any URL, nothing. It simply jumped to the site right away like it knew what I want to look at.

Someone explain this to me please.

There is no logical "connection" between my PC and the Kindle. (Otherwise I could explain it like that copying an URL into the clipboard on the PC somehow transferred this info to the Kindle, something like that).

The only explanation I have would be that from transferring the converted ebook previously it somehow set an automatic bookmark and now is using this bookmark after starting up the browser?

this is on a Kindle Touch or Paperwhite?

was it the actual site or was it a cached version of the webpage document you were moving back and forth on the device?

maybe somehow it picked up the url from when you tried viewing the doc and the web browser remembered it.. I don't know if the Experimental Browser can do this, using the book reader on my Fire if there is a url in the ebook it will underline it and make it a tapable link.

When you were trying to read the ebook you made, were any links underlined and did you tap on one? If you did then it's possible the browser remembered and when you opened it later it loaded the "last page viewed" which I believe is the default (at least that's what I remember from my Touch.)
