I can get it for $130 refurb.

i'm looking to replace my 11.6" netbook for travel.
i have a 27" monitor at work doing 2500x1400 vertical (portrait).

i cant stand the 1366x768. i hate scrolling now.

the nexus is 1900x1200 vertical.

but is the nexus also a cell phone?? (I have Verizon)
and any downsides?

Moved from GH to MD&G (you'll get better responses there)

It's an android tablet... I don't know what you need explained.

What do you currently do on your netbook?

Nexus 7 has a LTE version for data... but you can't do voice over LTE (VoLTE) right now, unless you use apps like Skype (Verizon also offers a 8.3" Lg G Pad LTE, which might be better if you want a larger screen with smaller bezel w/ microSD)

android tablets are more for media consumption/gaming, some productivity... but your netbook probably offers more for productivity (full Microsoft Office, PDF editor, etc.. Excel works without any issue)

the latest Bay Trail laptops/tablets/2-1s offer the best compromise b/w size and productivity (and cost)... the cheap versions (Dell Venue 8 Pro refurb, seen it <$160) only offer <768p screen, think you need at least $250 for a HP omni 10 w/ 1080p

I have mine hooked to my 128gb USB drive.

This. With an OTG reader, one of several apps on the Play Store, and a fast microSD card, you are good to go. I wish I had sprung for the 32GB model, but otherwise it's a great device. Best part? None of the crap Samsung and the others load up on their tablets; just the Gapps for the most part.

You can get other 7" tablets in this range that run either Android or Windows with a bluetooth keyboard. You can also get the Surface 2 (1080P) running Windows RT with Microsoft Office included - just remember to pick up a Type (or Touch) cover.

Is Android still so Flash-unfriendly these days that you need an app like the clunky FlashFox to view Flash videos? I know 4.2 had that attribute(not upgrading because chances l'll soft-brick my 2012 Nexus 7 again).

And yeah, you might need to get a Bluetooth keyboard and a case that can stand up the tablet.
