Explain Popup on start?

When I start my computer and I'm waiting for my desktop to finish opening up I get this little popup that reads "Can't find LmControl Procedure", and on the bar on top of the popup it reads "AsmiCtrl".
Does anyone know what that means or how to fix it.

It seems you might have some spyware or something funky going on.

Try this thread on helping you remove it. try here

Edit:

Oh, sorry my bad. I though you meant IE.

Goto Run>type MSCONFIG (if you have windows XP), goto startup tab. See if anything resembles what the error messages Uncheck it and reboot.

I looked inside of the startup and nothing looks like the popup message.
Any other suggestions.

Did you recently uninstall some freware etc or other some program?

Hmm, are you good at the registry, do you know where HKey_LocaMachine_software_windows_currrent version_run

see if there is anything there out of the ordinary
