explain ISO files sizes please....

I have a question. If an iso file is supposed to be an exact image of a CD (700 MB) why is it that they are sometimes less than 700 MB by alot? Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure, but the CD could contain less than 700 MB of data.

Thats right, they don't record the empty space, just what is taken. Some ISO's are way bigger, and I think that may for error checking... (but I don't know. If anybody really does know, PM me and let me know.)
