Explain: core/mem listed on ATI site vs OC program

At ATI's 9600 comparison page, it lists the 9600xt as having 500 engine/600 memory.

When I run Powerstrip or Rage3D, they list the numbers as 499.5 engine / 297 memory.

Is there some kind of terminology translation I am missing, or is this a different ATI 9600XT, or what?

It's a floating point calculation I believe. Don't worry, manufacturers round of the number, just like hard drives and everything else computer related. 297x2=600 (memory) and your core is perfect.
