Own the MX Duo myself, and never had even the smallest lag in typing, games, or anything for that matter. You sure the person you heard it from is using non dead batteries in their keyboard?

great combo, the only reason there would be lag is if the base is too close to a computer or moitor or something else that interferes with it or the batteries are going dead.

Did the people that experienced lag have the encryption turned on? That may have introduced a bit of a lag into the system, since the signals from the keyboard have to be decrypted by the receiver before they are sent out to the computer's USB or PS/2 ports. In everyday use like typing any lag is a not very apparent, but if you are playing Unreal or Quake and sending a lot of keyboard inputs to the receiver very fast with the encryption enabled, it could potentially cause a bit of a lag if the encryption hardware (software?) is overwhelmed by the amount of info being sent in such as short amount of time and becomes a bottleneck for the keyboard. I peronally can't see any keybpard lag with my Elite Duo, but a more competitive gamer than I may have some issues.

good deal!

Just go over to the Rebate Center on the right side middle of OD's website and do a search on rebates for SKU# 882010, and it will pull up a $10 MIR good until 10/11 (needs to be postmarked by 10/25). If it doesn't work, try again later, because their server seems a bit screwy. The first time I tried it, it would pull up the form by just searching for Logitech product rebates, but now it can only find the rebate if you put in the SKU into the search field. Weird.

How do you turn off the encryption? I have the Logitech MX Duo and am experiencing lag in games. I have only tried the drivers on the logitech website to try to remedy problem, nothing else.

No, it doesn't work that way. Encryption and decryption is fast enough to not introduce lag. Do not start baseless rumors; if you can't show it actually happen, then shut up.

I wasn't trying to start any rumors, I was trying to come up with a explaination for why some people syat they have lag and others do not. Notice the words potentially and may in my post. I was tossing out an idea for discussion. I didn't mean to defintively say that was what was happening to the people who experienced lag. Take a deep breath, man. I was just putting an idea on the table. Shoot it down if you want, but don't be rude about it. This is supposed to be a polite forum, not a flame-fest.

The encryption is off by default. You have to set it up in the "Cordless" tab on the iTouch drivers, and hit a button combo and type in a encryption key generated by the software. If you haven't done that, then there is probably some other reason for the lag you are seeing. It could very well be the positioning of the receiver, as Cooljt1 mentioned.

Got one last time was on sale. Still waiting for 10 rebate, but wasnt too long ago. This system kicks butt. I had the Cordless Elite Duo before this. The MX700 kicks butt and never had any lag from the keyboard

The mouse will work through walls.
I was cleaning my mouse in the bathroom (15ft. 1 wall) and when I came back, the browser had opened several new pages.
I don't know about the keyboard. Hang on.
Yup, the keyboard works too.
I typed the previous sentence in the bathroom.

How good is the mx700? I bought the elite duo regular back for around $30 back in january. The mouseman cordless optical in this combo didn't feel good (wireless isn't the same as corded in smoothness).
