Expired domain help needed

I have several domains registered. Apparently one of them expired on 12/03/05 and I didn't realize it until now. 🙁 I originally got it thru namecheap.com and normally renewing within 30 days is not a problem but this is over 30.

It is still registered with the nameservers that namecheap uses for their "under 30 days old expired" domains so I hope I can get it back. How do I get it back?

is it a .com or what, they're all different. If I can remember right, a .com is 30 days grace, 30 freeze, and 10 at the end for some reason, so 70 days before someone else can take it. Of course, I could be wrong.

Yeah, it's a .com. I guess I will email and/or call them.

Hello,
The domain is now in a redemption period. In order to re-instate the domain in this phase, there is a $200.00 fee plus $8.88 to renew. It is the Registry's fee, not ours.

FYI
The owner of a domain has a non-guaranteed grace period of aprox. 25-35 days after the expiration date to renew the domain at the regular domain rate. If the domain is not renewed, the domain will be deleted from our database and it is transfered to a "redemption period" at the Registry for aprox. 25-30 days. If the domain is not re-instated in this phase, then the domain is released to the public by the Registry and becomes available aprox.75 days after the expiration date.

So I guess I just have to take my chances on getting it back when it becomes public again as I am not gonna spend over $200 to get it back. 🙁

More bad news. There is no exact date on when it becomes public.

Sort of good news is you can use SnapNames.com to pre-order it. If they get it and no one else wants it, it's a flat $60 fee otherwise it's like a silent auction. Highest bidder wins. If this was a domain I REALLY WANTED I'd pay up the $60. If SnapNames.com doesn't get it for you, there is no fee.
