Had to RMA the previous build due to overheating. I had to upgrade it the next model but unfortunately the CPU I upgraded to (Pentium 631) and the video card (7800GT) run extremely hot.

The problem is that CPU heatsink sucks air horizontal from the left and exhaust the air to the right. Unfortunately, from the left is where you insert your video card in and the 7800GT basically blocks the heatsink from getting air from the outside.

Between the video card and the heatsink, there is a slot for a system blower. Unfortunately, I need a system blower that blows air inside the system instead of the typical exhaust one.

No comment!! The case is way to small and it doesn`t even have proper airflow!
The wiring needs to be cleaned up and you need to mod your case to find another place for a fan.....
The next question is why that set up...hmmm

GF wanted a MCE so that's what I got her. Now, Im thinking perhaps getting a VF900-Cu LED might help a bit on the GPU. Has anybody put a VF700-AlCU on the 7800GT? because I have a spare one and prefer not to spend too much money on this anymore...

But anybody know where I can get a system blower that blows the air in...where it would directly blow air right into the CPU heatsink from the back...a major improvement over the current setup.

Welcome to the hot world of SFF cube systems.

Can you not make the fan to run faster using Q-Fan settings so when the system gets to a certain temp it spins the fan faster.

Maybe you could pick up one of THESE.

Generally they're used to blow air out the back of your case, but maybe you could contact the manufacturer and ask them to make one that could blow air INTO your case instead. I'm sure they could just make one that went in reverse. Might be more expensive though.

I've seen a slot cooler from ANTEC that was desgined to blow outside air onto the video card by being instaled in the PCI slot below the card, perhaps that would work.

Here it is http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=75060

I thought u saved me but it takes TWO slots...sigh.

Theres 1 slot 1s on the Antec website.

I see one 1 slot one but is it the typical exhaust one? It doesn't really say.

sometimes you need to do modifications
http://www.geocities.com/wwswimming/shuttlehd2d.jpg

there's a picture of one. my hard drives were running too hot, i used a HSF i had
laying around, now the hard drives are close to room temperature. i used
thermal grease to conduct heat better to the alum. cage, and then used RTV
glue to stick the heat sink fan on.

if you don't have a plastic tub full of heat sinks and fans laying around,
there ought to be a decent collection at a local surplus electronics store,
if you have one.

finding one that's the right size can be a trick.

You could use the one slot one designed to suck air out and then switch 2 wires on the power cable since its DC or take it apart and flip the fan blade over if possible.

Well, since its a DC fan, and you usually have a + wire a - wire, you switch the + and - and the motor spins the other way. Sometimes you'll have a 3rd but its for rpm pick up.

Maybe a bad idea but from looking at the picture of the case, cant you mount a fan on the intake side of the case, hook one of the intake tubes (like the one on the side panel of this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage...TX+Mid+Tower+Computer+Case+%2D+Retail)
to some sort of tubing and run that so it either connect to your CPU HS/FAN combo or just blows outside air directly on your CPU HS. If there is room, you might be able to do the same thing with the graphics card?

Yea...that's what Im thinking of doing but instead use a slot cooler that sucks air from the back and blow it directly onto the heatsink because between the video card and the horizontal heatsink, there is a slot for a PCI card.

Anyways, the slot blowers...for the most part are centrifugal so even if I reverse the fans, it still blows air out...sigh!

Looks like you might have a spare 5.25" drive slot... mabye not. If so, why don't you just get an I-Storm?

This thing sticks out the front of the case a couple of inches, and has a rotary (squirrel cage) blower, so it'll push some air in there.

Um... Might wanna paint it black (it's white. not green)... :)

*edit*

Here are some pics for you.

Heh! Looks like it has the same blower as my Sytrin KuFormula VF1 Plus VGA cooler...

If you don't have a 5.25" bay free, this guy stuck one on the backside of the case.

I had a slot fan(not Antec) that I tried that technique on. After reversing the wires nothing happened. The fan didn't spin at all. I switched the wires back and it worked again. What I ended up doing was cutting a grill out that was on the back and weding the the slot cooler in the hole with the outlet facing in(the cooler stuck out of the back of the case). Not the most elegant solution, but it worked fine.

Sorry the being blunt, but really, I think this is a lost cause -- at least with the current config!

If you look at the pics at 'the egg', it shows a swarmy little video card -- like a $25 ATI 9200SE, or whatever.

The hardware he/she is using needs to be downgraded. Either that, or it's gonna burn itself out...

I don't know about lost cause, but I think it'll take some modding to cool it down. What I'd do is add 2 fans, 1 on each side to blow air across the case behind the video card, and below the hd. You'd have to drill out a new fan port on the right to match the left side, but that would be fairly easy to do. The air won't be hitting the cpu directly, but I think it'd add enough flow to cool things down.
