Although we hv an advance queue for backup and recovery of data. But most of customers do not hv money to pay huge amount for that. Now i want that we should be giving them some steps to recover data if Operating system or Hdd is crashed. healtheworld, I think some of what you're asking is impossible for the average or even above average home computer user to do. They just don't have the skills to do things like data recovery on their own. If they need to recover important data, they should pay a good local computer shop or consultant to do it for them.

What you can do it provide a way from them to make images of their system that they can use to get their system working again in the event of things like accidental format or dirty installation. Symantec Ghost is a good utility for doing that. Maybe you could sell a Ghost software license with each system with instructions on how to make a Ghost image of the system? Make sure you give them an image of the original state of their system to start them off.

As for data loss, you need to tell your customers how important it is to make regular backups of their data. Having up-to-date backups pretty much eliminates the need for expensive data recovery. Maybe you can sell them a good, easy-to-use backup utility that supports backup to CD-RW.

In addition to that, you can use Goback from Roxio, that restores your hard disk from a previous configuration, even if windows won't boot. You can find more info here This is not a backup program, but it can save long hours trying to restore a windows or hard disk problem. Another recommendation is to save the important files in some form of removable storage, like zip drives.

I hope this helps
