"Experimenting" in college.

Do you believe this to be true or more of an urban legend? Sure college is the perfect place to experiment with your sexuality, tons of willing partners both straight and gay and an open liberating environment. But do you think that many straight people actually experimented in college? I'm far from being homophobic, my boss is gay and we get along like good friends and many of our customers are gay and some of the nicest people you'll meet, I'm pro gay marriage etc... But I just can't see sleeping with another guy unless you are turned on by him and if you are I can't see how you couldn't label yourself gay or bi. The classic story though is that of a straight person experimenting with gay sex then later labelling themselves as straight. I can't see how people could "test out" being gay even for a short time without coming to the conclusion that they are at least BI?

True but what would make you want to try it in the first place if you weren't physically attracted to the person to begin with?

Quit dwelling on it and go out and just DO it! That way you'll know for sure...

So....I am guessing you're his boss?

Experimenting is convincing your girlfriend to stick a finger in your back door while she tries to deep throat you. Experimenting is not kneeling down at a glory hole...

QFT

crude, but that pretty much sums it up for me.

I think it is a lot more natural for women to experiment with each other, as well as as lot more natural for them to have bisexual tendencies.

😉

You're either gay or you're not (or bi -- those greedy bastards can't just stick with one side!). The idea of experimenting with your sexuality is nonsense.

The local interpretation of experimenting up here is to attempt to sleep with pretty much every kind of female in existence. Black, white, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Indian, German...

The good kind of experimenting 😉

So what you're basically saying is you fancy your boss?

I think experimenting at an early age, say 10-15 in regards to sexuality is fairly common. You try it once and see if you like it or not.. When you are a bit older, like 18+ it really starts drawing the line of defining whether you are primarily attracted to males or females. It seems that a lot of individuals come out in their latter years of HS or early in college. By the tone in your paragraph it comes across that you possibly have gay thoughts but don't want to act on them b/c of embarrassment and or beliefs.

That's what I read too

QFT. I definitely did some worldly experimenting (women only of course) when in collge, grad school, and postdocs. Its sometimes easier to remember the contry of origin than the name. Lets try:
Croatia, germany, england, ireland, france, japan, korea, thailand, italy, bolivia, russia, india, switzerland (actually Briget was great and broke my heart), austria (also referred to as the deaf chic because of her accent), sweden, pakistan (crazy chic), mexico, and others that im forgetting ATM. And now the states...jk.

thats not how I interpreted it at all. I think the OP is simply meaning to ask... how can people "experiment" when they have no physical attraction at all?

There was an episode of "American Dad" a few weeks back that you should watch, talks about experimenting in a very succinct and clear manner.

I've never heard of many people experimenting at an early age, usually the stereotype is to experiment in your 20s.

Not sure where you picked up that tone from? Perhaps because I said I was friends with my gay boss? If so nope just friends and don't have any wishes to be gay now or any time in the future. One can admit to being completely comfortable with gay people without secretly wishing to be gay you know.

I would suspect for many people it is the other way round, i.e., start out being with opposite sex partners, then realise they are gay
