I just got Quicken and am going to give it a go. My wife and I have a couple different bank accounts, she's got some debt on her credit cards, and there's plenty of different bills floating around. We run around putting out fires all the time and I think if we just got organized between us we make enough to pay things off and even start saving something here and there. Then I can start clicking on those "Manage your investments" tabs.

Is there something better than Quicken? Does anyone have any advice? It seems like some work to set it all up and then $10 a month to use it right so I figured I'd at least get some feedback first.

I have been running Quicken 2001 for about 2 years. I Love it, the only other program i know of is Microsoft Money. I have used both and found Quicken to be a lot easier to use. Yah it might take a little to set it up but once you do you'll love it. one big hint to you is to BACK UP your accounts on a monthly or weekly basis.

Learh how to print off the many many reports, its great for checking against your bank statement and credit statements...

Thx I'll definately make backups. The problem I'm seeing right off is that my wife's bank isn't supported for Quicken to access directly. I can download her bank statements in Quicken files but I can't use Online Bill Pay thru it or have it alert me to any withdrawals or checks hitting. I'm going to have to get her to switch banks once I convince her it's a good thing.

Yah i had the same problem with my bank statements and online bill pay. I didn't feel like switching banks so i set up free (Quicken is not free) on-line bill pay through my bank and just D/L the statements.
