Experiences with eDrive encrypted drive and Win8/Server2012R2?

I ordered a 500GB Samsung 840EVO and want to try the encrypted drive function. With Bitlocker/eDrive hardware encryption enabled in Windows 8, will I still be able to use imaging software like Acronis TrueImage or Paragon to back up my boot partition? And partitioning tools like Acronis Disk Director or Paragon to resize/create a 2nd partition without breaking the hardware encryption function?

If not, how are you guys backing up/restoring system partitions?

Also, I read you can't use Intel RST driver as it'll break eDrive functionality. Is that still the case with the latest v13 driver?
