Experienceing input lag in UT3

hi, first of all, my machine is a quad core @ 4ghz, on h20, 4870, 8g, asus MIIF board... O 2ms Viewsonic VX922

I am experiencing input lag when gaming with UT3. I've went through some TCP optimizations, vid card 'searches' game tweaks, even read a little on the response time of the mouse click which vista seems to set at 125hz (8ms) ... is there anything else that possibly Vista creates causing input lag in UT3?

EDIT: crap, forgot, yes ports are forwarded and DMZ is enabled, static ip also

Try playing around with your mouse settings, especially with smoothing, and acceleration. If you have Vsync on, try turning it off.

Edit:
With my dual core, I have to limit UT3 to 1 core, or else it'll max out both and I get stutters. I don't think you'd have that problem with a quad, but it's something to look at.

You could try older/newer gfx drivers. I had some issues with newer Nvidia drivers, and had to go back to 178.24.

well 1st he has ati card. Well let me ask this when do you get the lag just playing single player match or just online. You should diffenet have fast enough system. And what Ati drive version do you have

9.3 drivers, online DM or TDM & CTF if anyone is playing... the fastest I can get my mouse down to is 6ms... i usually play at UMG league, Beer Drinkers, or Vipers DM Max, and also Landri's ... i can't figure out what is still causing that little bit of input lag...

Na, believe me, i've tweaked all I can think of for competing and that's something that is usually never on for any game

What's your ping to these servers? The netcode in the UT3 engine is horrible. Anything above about 50ms and you start getting lag. It might even be lower; I've kinda gotten used to it, hard to notice now.

BubbaXM2's Instagib CTF server has the zeroping mod; that's the only server I really play on (and iCTF is the only gamemode I play now anyways).

Ping is good, some 45's others 60's I do notice however that after the 4th person joins on say UMG, ping starts getting shot to hell... was doing decent against Random54 & i_hax, i was in last place but had more kills than I thought I would...

I think I may just swap out my MIIF board with my UD3R and just re-install; possibly XP Pro

Anti-virus? Firewall?

Or maybe it's a limitation of MCM quad-cores, which can only be solved by moving to i7, PII, or.. dualies. :p

just Windows Defender; when i turn it on, and that's like once every 2 months to check for anything, & its in front of the DMZ zone...

dualies as in dual cpu's? im on a quad Q9650

MCM? = motherboard controlled memory? yes, my MIIF board sucks when you consider the 279$ compared to the 119$ of the UD3R that can run quads stable above 500fsb, i think i've only seen on person have a quad stable @ 500fsb with a MIIF and that was after 5 RMA returns. I did boot with 500fsb but it was a joke to run any stability testing apps

now that D0 is out, i may sell off the Q9650 & MIIF board; 200$ a piece

Keyboard & Mouse

I have the smooth fps cap at 70 to reduce the need for fps beyond what I need to see to save on the structural rendering done by the CPU - if it actually does that

I'm thinking its network related. maybe I just suck; which is likely
