I have a coolermaster 110 case that comes with a door, but...

In my enthusiasm to mod, I bought a 3.5 inch vantec fan controller with knobs that protrude out, and a muskateer with a similar problem

Cant get the 110 door to shut properly.

Just thinkin if its possible to change the knobs on the vantec fan controller and similar on the muskateer?

Modders out there, if u have any ideas please help!

thanks

That's a toughie. You could recess the controllers slightly, if you want to use them. I don't think the Musketeer would have any clearance issues as the little sliders don't stick out more than 1/4".

If you want to get creative, you could drill holes in a baycover blank (/me shudders) and then "stealth" the Vantec behind the bay, having the knobs only protrude a very small amount. I'm not sure if this would still let you get a grip on the knobs to turn them, however.

You could also mount the Vantec completely behind a baycover, glue an earth magnet to the inside of the cover and put it in front of the Vantec and use another magnet to pull the cover off when you want to adjust the fans. :)

the muskateer doesnt have enough clearance, ive shoved it as far back as possible on the 110, but door still wont close.

is there a fan controller 3.5 inch which will NOT protrude and hopefully, silver?

thanks!

The Musketeer protrudes that much? That must be one close fitting door! :Q Sounds like you might be out of luck. :(

ok sorry so late but i have an idea that should work. Actually i have 2.
First one:
Drill holes in one of your 3.5 bay covers the size of the nobs and recess the fanbus behind one of the covers and they will not stick out so far and you will stil have a flush front.

Second: (much more difficult and risky)
Remove th nobs fro your bay bus. Cut whatever lengthoff of each nob back to shorten teh nob and cut the same length off of each peg sticking out of the fan bus to shorten the nobs and still look almost identical to whe you bought it new.

really neigther is that difficult bt both are time consuming depending on theintracasies you want to take with the first and the second really sin't that bad but you whoudl be very careful of metal shavings while doing this.

please feel free to pm me with any questions I will be happy to help in any way I can.
