Experience with SATA DVD burners

Hi all, thinking of getting a new dvd burner and I ran across this samsung SATA model at Newegg.

Anyone have any experience with SATA burners in general?

If I reinstall my operating system from scratch. Does SATA drives require any kind of special driver before it'd boot windows cd?

I'm trying to figure out if there are any downside to a SATA dvd drive since they're relatively new.

Thanks

I'm the market too for a new DVD Burner. This one does look good and works with Vista according to the reviews on Newegg, I'd start there and read some of the reviews on it.
