Are they reliable? Are Blue Screens of Death a common experience? Do they use quality components? How about support? Is it useful or useless? Would you recommend it to a family member or tell them to beware? If one opens the case or adds components, does that void the warranty? Any information will be much appreciated.

I checked resellerratings and they seem to be listed well. They also seem to have good prices.

My neighbor got one form Costco last June 2001 (Athlon 1ghz, DDR). They use gigabyte motherboards which are solid, stable boards but without a lot of options for OC. Its been really stable, no BSOD's or whatever. I would consider Micron better than Gateway in terms of reliability and just a tad behind Dell.

I purchased my first PC from Micron.(233MMX)
Being new, I messed my machine up many times and had problems because of third party software and hardware and Micron always helped me.
They went way beyond what should be expected of them.
I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Yea, I bought my first computer from them about 2 years ago. Everything was standard in it! They used a Tyan Trinity 400 motherboard in it, which was rock solid, everything else was name brand. Great system. I didn't have to contact tech support, and my waranty was voided anyway by upgrading pretty much everything inside, but when I say everything, I mean everything...CPU, Sound card, video card, hard drive, addded a NIC, replaced the CD-ROM...it was more a custom built computer than a micron computer when I got through with it ;)

Micron PCs were built with quality stuffs, too bad Micron quits making them. I think the company still produce laptops, not sure.

Micron tried to run with dell/gateway and failed, (got sold off?), did CTO's for bestbuy, and now got bounced to a dark corner CTO kiosk of Compusa that no one buys from.

They cost more than dell last time i checked

Thanks for all the replies. :)

Now they can be found at http://www.micronpc.com/. Compared to dell, CUSA, and BB, you get way more bang for your buck. Thats why I wonder about stability and stuff. It looks like a good buy; I'm looking for the catch. ;)

Certain MicronPCs (particularly, the ones sold at Best Buy) were horribly built). The company never officially stated what was wrong--I had a friend that got one and she had all sorts of hell with it... I thought it could've been a grounding problem. Notice how Best Buy does not carry MicronPCs anymore.
