Does anyone here have experience registering a domain name with godaddy.com? I just tried it out, and so far it's been good... I registered it this morning, and apparently it's active already. I won't know until I get my hosting set up with it though, but I already set up the name servers, so it's just a matter of when that becomes active.. probably by tomorrow, right? Any time I made changes, they emailed me instantly.. very quick responses. Everything seemed well layed out and set up. What have your experiences with godaddy been like? Any bad ones? Any downsides to them?

Cool, so do you remember how long it took to get it all set up when you first joined?

Hi RossMAN, thanks for the input. What do you like better about NameCheap over GoDaddy? The prices seem pretty similar. You like the interface more..?

I prefer their control panel and I've heard rumors (not sure if it's true) that NameCheap charges less fees.

For instance if you want to transfer your domain from one registrar to another it's free with NameCheap. Again I'm not sure if it's true but NameCheap has a stellar reputation on WHT.

Cool. Yeah, I looked into the domain transferring. It can't be less than 60 days old though, and I just registered my domain today, so I won't be transferring mine any time soon. :p

Anyway, as long as this works the way I want, I really don't care... as I won't be messing around in there all the time.

So, do you know anyone that can help me with this?

Nope, sorry but I'm a total HTML n00b myself.

If you can pay someone a few bucks, post a request here and someone will show you everything you want to know.

Propagation took up to 72 hrs. for some people who tried to look at my page - but hey, it gives you enough time to set up your awesome webpage!

Alright, thanks for the help, RossMAN. I won't pay someone to make/find a simple javascript for me, but maybe someone over there will be able to help me out. :)

notfred gave you the right answer; everyone else was just messing around. So search Google for Javascript resources, specifically covering onClick handlers.

The prob is I'm a neanderthal when it comes to any sort of programming. It's all complete gibberish to me.. I just have trouble getting the concepts. How long would it take a relatively experienced programmer to accomplish what I'm talking about? I'm guessing not long at all.. ?

Have 3 domain names with Godaddy... 2 were new registers and 1 was a transfer from another registrar. No problems to report. The interface / wizard was easy to follow and use. The price is among the best. What more can you ask for ?

I've been using GoDaddy for years with more than half a dozen domains. Two thumbs up for them.
