Hi all, I got the Compaq Presario 2232US from this weeks CompUSA deal. After using it for 5 days, I already got a dead pixel in the screen. Wonder what's others experience with such laptio. Though it's a good deal I got ($399 assuming all rebates come in), it seems the laptop is not much of good quality. I scare that the screen will become worse as it goes along. Anyone has such laptop or jump on a recent deal with such laptop can share their experience or comments on such laptop? Thanks very much!

i'm pretty sure that the lcd screens on all notebooks are made by a couple of manufacturers, so a bad pixel probably isn't a good way to measure the quality of a notebook. It could happen on the most expensive notebook you can buy.

I also bought a 2232us at this sale, btw, and I'm happy with the overall quality. Hopefully Compaq will replace your screen or notebook, if the dead pixel is in an obvious location.

Why? Do you think it's a bad deal? With such parts should it go cheaper than this price? Does it mean that the screen will be in bad quality also? Thanks.

I did not get the router and the printer as I don't need them and I don't want to do all those rebates. I may make some profits selling them off in ebay but it's not worth the effort and too much to risk. I bought the laptop because I needed it myself.

The Gameboy deal is nice too, good for those who doesn't already have one. Did anyone else here got the deal also? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure he meant it sounds like a good deal.

If by "good deal" you mean "Sickeningly Burning Like Liquid Hot Magma" then yes. :D

If I didn't say so before, I really like this notebook !

but the real reason I'm bumping this thread, is I believe CompUSA is ging to have it on sale again for $499, and maybe still eligible for the extra $100 rebate when purchased with a CompUSA credit card, that makes it $400.

Not sure of the exact date, but it's part of their 21 day birthday sale, if anyone wants to know what day, check the usual hot deals sites for more info.
