I just installed this board with a 3200+ AMD Athlon, and 2GB Micron Crucial RAM.
I got it with a combo from NewEgg for a good price, with a 200GB WD SATA drive.
I was not able to successfully install an OS on the SATA drive. I tried to do it with no floppy, slipstreamed XP, Vista, the works. I tried the SATA and RAID drivers for the VIA southbridge chip that is on the board. I didn't try any *nix varieties I guess.
Installing on an IDE drive went smoothly. Vista had a little trouble with the onboard audio, but a download linked from the Asus website fixed the microphone problem.
I haven't overclocked but the bios looks capable.
