While I haven't used it extensively, I believe that Windows 10 has a built-in drive for them. At least, Windows 7 64-bit did too, for the v1 hardware. (v2 required a downloaded driver.)
Not sure how easy it is to tell the difference between v1 and v2 hardware, other than perhaps a marking on the PCB, and driver compatibility.
Edit: Jack, the reviews on that page are useless, they combined the reviews for all the different Rosewill adapters on that page. For example, this one:
The settings that I have adjusted can be found by opening the Device Manager under control panel and selecting network adapters. Right Click Realtek RTL819CE and select properties. Under the advanced tab disable the Roaming sensitivity level, and change the TX power level to 100%. I am using Windows 7 64bit and assume windows XP thru Windows 7 would have the same setting available.
Only, the adapter in question in the OP is an Atheros chipset, and not a "RTL" (Realtek).
