S2000, only cost me £10.5k. That wasn't too bad for me. I saved the £££ for years 😛 worth every penny. I love smashing it on the track with not a care in the world. Love the savagely high revving engine, just hate 1st gear from a standstill but thats not what the car is about 😀

I think I would have been gutted at getting an M3 when I was 22 though. The insurance was insane, read 3-5k and the car was about £24k and now it's only worth 13-15k 3yrs later! I'd have been p!ssed the car devalued so much. I wasn't making enough to see a fat £3-4k a year in the cars value taken off it. The S2000 I'll sell next year and get an E46 M3 and I'll only lose 2-3k in 2yrs which isn't too bad. I just love driving the S2000, it puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it 😀

He's clearly not talking about buying new.

I take the bus everyday to work so it sits un-driven during the week. I take it to the mountains when we ski, it's a beast in the snow and if i have a long trip we take my girl's camry!

I don't know how people who don't drive everyday do it. I know this guy who has an 08 M5 and an 09 X5 4.8i. He takes his Durango to the train station every day because of idiots who don't care about other people's property. That's way too nice a garage for the occasional weekend outing. I yearn to get in my car twice a day. I look for excuses to get out.

I (somewhat) regret trading in my '02 GTI for an '03 GTI AE. It was my first new car (I was in my 30's). After awhile,I was bored and considered modding the '02. Instead I bought the new car at a better interest rate. The fact that my father had passed away the previous December was also a huge effect on my decision on my trade in. Grief makes us do unusual things.

So far I love the newer car, no probs except ignition coils. Running @ 75k and I still love it. Only thing I don't love is the pending timing belt change :\

Only thing I regret about buying my Altima is not haggling on the price a bit more. It's a nice car that has some small flaws, but overall good.

2nd hand value man. Brand new is A LOT and I don't think I'll buy a new car. 3yr+ cars are where it's at 🙂
