I noticed strange thing about them - the last 2 times I bought airline tickets I was able to find cheaper prices on carriers website, as opposed to expedia.com. Both times the very same airline and the same flight was listed among the search results on expedia, however the price was higher.

So what gives? I thought sites like expedia searched all air carriers for the best fair? Or is it because the air carriers are now giving discounts through their websites, as opposed to the central database where all the flights are listed?

expedia charges $5 to book a flight. by buying on an airlines website you can save $5, also expedia lists the price with tax and fees included and airline websites like to add that on after you select your flight.
