Expected CPU temps

Intel P4 3.4 800FSB
ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe mobo
Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu cooler
Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste

I'm currently seeing CPU temps (reported in BIOS) of 48-49 C at idle, which on the surface seems pretty good but I dunno....

Anyone out there have a feel for whether I'm running hotter than I should be, or if these are good temps and I should be proud of myself for my install job?

are you overclocking? i'm not sure for a 3.4Ghz, surely that would be very much hotter than my 2.4Ghz... with my 2.4Ghz prescott(stock speed/stock HSF) i can get 46 celsius in idle...

but you have a pretty good cooler though...

Nah, no OC at all right now. 3.4 is enough of a jump for me from my prior rig that OC doesn't feel necessary yet This idle temp is just powered on and looking at the temp in BIOS - I don't even have an OS installed yet, so this temp worries me a little.
